Hey there! Welcome to my blog where I will give back the scene thoughts, knowledge and just general updates about Ascolta Farm life. Ascolta Farm has been in full operation for a little over a year and it has been a challenge. Moreso because I've been farming while also raising my 3 year son and 10 month of daughter. Let me tell you, the things I would like to have gotten accomplished to have grown and be ready to sell vs what was actually planted and ready is a stark difference. If you're a parent then you know what I am talking about. One of the biggest challenges I would say about being a Farmer is figuring out your lane in this world and how you fit in. As much as I would love to plant every single seed out there and be a super producer, I know that to be sustainable and successful I will need to focus on being great a growing few vegetables but go through the variety of those. For example there are over 50 varieties of cucumbers and over 100 varieties of green beans. I want and and will grow my farm to grow these varieties of cucumbers and green beans to push the bounds of social acceptances of cucumbers and green beans that are seen in the grocery stores.
As I am preparing for Fall and Winter, I have a couple of crops in the ground now and have first the first time, planted my bulbs for early spring/summer. So be on the lookout for flower events in the next year. Speaking of flower events, last weekend, I held the first one and it was so much fun! I learned a lot and am so excited to continue to grow and share the fruits of my labor with you all.
I think that's it for now! Till next post. Stay well, enjoy the little things in life as much as the big things! Remember to always listen to grow!
